I used to love Colbert's old show but I guess I'm one of 'those people' who doesn't like his new comedy/show that "isn't his problem".

Does anyone else feel that Colbert let's himself off the hook way too easily and doesn't consider himself accountable for his new 'style' of comedy?

I mean, I think this is still somewhat scripted/prepared, and I don't think John Mulaney was surprised by the questions. But, I absolutely appreciate the honesty. I think it's a genuine moment. I mean, what motivation would they have to talk like this otherwise? It very much feels like a re-creation of an actual conversation they had off camera.

This is one of the best examples of people sharing honestly that I have seen in a long while. I love that they were honest and not for the sake of a joke. Some have said Stephen sees himself in John. I think John sees his future in Stephen and asked how he handles 4am because of the wisdom Stephen can provide.

If you look at John Mulaney, and guess the size of his balls and the speed with which the neurons in his strangely sized/shaped head are firing, you're probably wrong. You'll probably regret going at him. Don't fuck with John Mulaney.
