Tried writing a second function to help me process values to add to the payload but the payload_fields are no longer added. Any reason this may happen?

Found it's because it's returning invalid values for a couple of the variables. Anyone has this issue run a test payload in the things network console and it will show you any errors.

nice. But just a question: you have an unit32_t data type with measurements in it. How come that you extracts highByte and lowByte and you find the values? what about the values in the second and third bytes of uint32_t?

Hi Antonio, we have quite an informative page about bits and bytes on our website. Please have a look at: www.thethingsnetwork.org/docs/devices/bytes.html

For some predefined data types have a look here: github.com/thesolarnomad/lora-serialization - for protobuf-based ones see: github.com/thesolarnomad/ttn-proto-utils
