I see it as an aid to the elderly and handicapped. I could see this sort of thing being a big help around the home one day.

Without the "abuse" all of the robots would never stand a chance against a crowd of people or slippery floor. It's a fundamental part of their evolution, I think they would be grateful for this as I would say, learning how to walk.

Michael Kilby “After all, if you do not resist the apparently inevitable, you will never know how inevitable the inevitable was.” Terry Eagleton, “I don't believe anything's really inevitable until it happens. We just call it inevitable to make ourselves feel better about it, to excuse ourselves for not having done anything.” Lauren Willig, “Can we say, in this case, that the cause of a cause is the relevant cause?” Johnny Rich

Boston Dynamics is largely funded by the US Military. These "Robots" will be armed and sent into battle, Just as UAV's (Drones) are now, making it easier for some US President that is in political trouble, to invade a country to show they are "strong on protecting the USA", because US Humans will not be killed. We need to think IF we should be doing this, not how. That was the problem with making the first nuclear bomb. They were too busy trying to see if they could make it, Not, Should they make it. “I know there's a proverb which that says 'To err is human,' but a human error is nothing to what a computer can do if it tries.” Agatha Christie, “Even the technology that promises to unite us, divides us. Each of us is now electronically connected to the globe, and yet we feel utterly alone.” Dan Brown, “Ethics change with technology.” Larry Niven, “If privacy had a gravestone it might read: 'Don't Worry. This Was for Your Own Good.” John Twelve Hawks

I think it is appropriate to say at this height, that they should build a robot that collects the garbage from the oceans, no matter how long it takes to clean it, what I saw yesterday is that the precious fish eat the plastic believing that it is food, they do not have incorporated that humans throw hard trash, the ocean is something invaluable my friends.
