Why don't you calculate the cost of making IOS?
Come on, the Apple product = Software + Hardware(buy from another manufacture)
      China's Phone = Opensource(Free) + Hardware(produce by themselves)

Why don't you show us if Chinese company invent it own OS(actually invent it, no using android or Linux as based), How much it cost?

Your point five is only partially true. Samsung actually make their own RAM so they do not need to buy it from others. It is the manufacturing process which determines the price of the chips.
This involves making multiple modules on a single large disc which are then cut out. The chips at the center are generally best quality and this decreases closer to the edge of the disc and so are graded accordingly by the manufacturer. This is why the are sold at cheaper prices. It is the same process for the manufacture of CPUs.

You can pay $1000 for a phone or you can pay $39.99, to check Facebook, Google and RU-clip. All of them end up in the same sites and have the same apps.

Samsung is a true company that builds its products from scratch. Apple is software company with too much cash.

  • Russell Mariveles Montiel Mendoza Montojo

yes i like apple because they are good but why would i spent that much money for an expensive phone when i can buy a cheap phone with the same quality and specs as the original branded phones like samsung and iphone. why cant samsung and apple follow what the chinese phone manufacturers are doing.selling cheap but quality made phones. it will even get worse because of the trade war between america and china.

  • Russell Mariveles Montiel Mendoza Montojo

u are very wrong. not all chinese phones are cheap they can even compete with the phones manufactured in america. for example i am using an oppo a3s made in china. although i bought it with a cheap price it is not a crap it has great specs for a cheap price. your apple is just selling overprice phones thats why they are very expensive.

Other phone makers have increased price gradually remember the time in which you can buy a top of the shelf flagship for 500-600$. Now companies like Samsung has learned the lesson and they are selling phone like galaxy A series for lower price

Why are these phones so cheap? Chinese avoids taxes in other countries. Never got a right receip after a buy. They pay not as much as the workers deserve! 200 Hours a Month without a penny! The chinese government subsidizes shipping outside the country. And ofcourse advertising or other spy functions in chinese phones.

That is how the Asian car manufacturers got into North America. They made cheap, but good cars. They built up a good reputation and now the cars are slightly more expensive than American built cars. Short term pain for long term gain. It's not a new concept. If Chinese phone companies are using it, take advantage of that and get yourself a good budget phone.

The Chinese companies( beside the Foxconn ) own the OEM and ODM factories. What this basically mean is they manufacturer and design. They are mostly concentrated In Shenzhen, a city located in Southern China and near Hong Kong.
Beside the high tech companies, many smartphones accessories maker, such as Baseus have R&D (research and development), they make and design a lot of good smartphones and car accessories target for Young consumers at very affordable price, even Alibaba work with them, too.
If you really wanted to compare the product you wanted to buy today, their design basically very similar because many of these phone are made by the same company.

It's not likely that Chinese phones would use DRAM that's actually failing. But manufacturers do speed-grade RAM. If you're buying a more expensive part, it's likely every chip passed a test. But tests are expensive. At a slower speed, they may have a pretty good idea that every part passes the speed test, so they're just functionally tested. Thus, a cheaper part. Samsung, of course, is the largest DRAM maker (and largest chip company in general), so it's unlikely they're specifically buying someone else's derated parts. But it's pretty likely that the low-cost phones use cheaper DRAM, slower clocked parts. In fact, there's a good chance the lower-end SOCs they're using can't take advantage of the faster DRAM used in an iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S.

They steal american intellectual property and exploit their workers. it isnt rocket science. They are also subsidized by the CCP to put other companies out of business and eliminate competition so the only choice will then be the sub par chinese product. Then the prices will go up and we'll all be back where we started with worse products. you seem to be ignorant to the purpose of patent law as you only discuss the positive aspects of ignoring it and not the negative aspects, like a company who invests in r&d is now at a financial disadvantage and will be put out of business by copycats. this means this company will no long contribute to r&d and innovation will slow along with only sub par products being available on the market. there is a reason intellectual property is protected in the us. china would be smart to do the same. they dont innovate though, they copy.

Re No 5... When a batch is made of say memory it will have a range of performance - some be will top notch and up to spec (or even overspec). Others will run slower/hotter and need some delays in the cycle. None of what gets through should fail - that gets rejected. Every chip is tested and put in the appropriate bin and priced accordingly.

Bullshit! These phones aren't cheap, they are just more reasonably priced than their competitors. Truth be known, charging 1k or 2k and up for a device that barely lasts 2 years and is worth less than a dried dog turd shows that these things drop their value like lead balloons.

Well anything that needs a lot of personal is expensive in the US, Korea or Europe.. like management, research and development, service and marketing. Western brands have to pay very high wages to their employees while wages in china are low and they often lack in service quality. Material and production costs are only a small piece of the final price. Not saying their making to little profit though..
