The rockets problem this series was they were trying to cheese on every shot to get some BS regular season call. They totally could have actually competed this series if they just tried to actually hit shots

  • Garvey Mfeka

Other than the contract, the only regret the Rockets should have had regarding Chris Paul is letting D'Antoni cast him as an extra instead of a slightly lesser co-star. The difference in the Rockets in 2017/18 and 18/19 season are more noticeable, while they played iso heavy both years, Chris Paul was much more involved, and the ball just happens to find shooters more often with him. He's not 24 and 10 kind of player anymore, but letting him have 18 and 10, isn't that bad honestly

Dantoni is a good coach just never will be great, his subs are bad and minute management is subpar, and he just watches his good players do what they want, then defend them at all cost, they looked uninterested in winning the series as a team!

Good as CP3 is, Clippers won that trade hands down. Among others, they got Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley, and Montrezl Harrell from Houston.

If Harden and CP3 play better off ball, they have a chance. Harden literally just stands still at the three if he doesn't have the ball.

Team basketball built on trust, energy and chemistry prevailed. Compare Warriors to the LeBron-led Lakers.

It was the same thing that happened last year with the same matchup. They just amplified the Spurs' concept and succeeded.

  • aridf
    aridf 4 months ago

In an Silicon Valley esq scheme the Warriors knew the Rockets could get close if they make the right moves last year so they played with them for 7 games so the Rockets would hand out big contracts to all the wrong guys to lock themselves into a mediocrity team

Chris Paul signed for 30 plus million. Golden State lost KD and still crushed the Rockets. That's a dumb question.

  • Reningan
    Reningan 4 months ago

Those teams who won multiple titles, i.e. a dynasty, in the NBA in the past 30 years always moved the ball around. Chicago Bulls, LA Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, and Golden State Warriors. Those teams who do not move the ball well never comes close to building a dynasty.

  • Wisest Of the the century

Ofc it was a mistake because they lose smh

Chris Paul should take less and get back those clippers players.

  • Fine Wine Daily

The Rockets effectively went toe to toe with one of the all-time super teams two straight years. And with a less talented group of players. It's hard to criticize their coaching and GM decisions just because they ran into the Warriors.

  • Kori Jenkins

It's really not about "is it the best way to do things"

The Warriors are the best team EVER assembled. They can lose one of their best players and still be at least as good as every other NBA team. The Rockets are the 2nd best team in the league. Nobody argues that. They were assembled without a particularly great draft, old vets, and niche players.

To say "their way is proven to not work" is ignorant of the fact that only 1 out of 29 NBA teams have beaten the Warriors in a series at all (and it was before KD) and also ignorant of all the other teams they've beaten in recent years.

To the naysayers, I ask this? Where is your team? They've either lost already, or they're on the way to doing so (Blazers)

The real question is, is Chris Paul the problem for rockets. Now he could be scoring & making plays but does he have the right mentality? We all know he a snake. Stabs you in the back as soon as he gets a chance. I honestly think that CP doesn’t have chemistry with his teammates. He just wants to win... what’s my point here? Idk lol I just hate CP3. But I love how he keeps choking. 😂😂.

Rockets need to stop playing cheap tactics, flopping, head snapping back, leg kicking, arm grabbing to gain advantage on calls and just play basketball. High IQ basketball not cheap tactics.
