When we get rid of naming everything new or state of art concept by acronym X ? My first vision is a two particle/object scattering/interaction by Feynman diagram. You may see multi choice test paper or X is female and Y is male interpretation. So, different people has very different meaning of context for X. If a multi choice answer has a square then you probably use X, but if the options has a circle, then you smudge it by preserving symmetry, which breaking is unnatural . If you have a map, do you mark the destination/location/way point by X or circle? Do it reveal something of person's 'mind set'/behavior? Do the lower educated human use X as exact and academic one circle of a fuzzy meaning? Is it simply concrete versus abstract matter of fact? I hope, that someday, someone can answear my questions and we don't need '?' anymore to explain 'X' for a new or unknown thing factor.

I want Intel to do something like I/O acceleration, for VR, K/M and controllers to make "smart" controllers, development tools for Steam Controllers and VR mainly with hardware. Though also I think they could add support for something a bit more interesting along side it. For motion, touch and mouse tracking to start.

Whya don't they ship out the games in a box together with the USB dongle which means without the dongle the game won't even startup.

What about Valve’s work in Proton and other cross-platform work eg Windows games on Linux? Valve and Steam aren’t complacent but have been working on making things better for the community.

Half life 3 is never going to happen. With all the anger and all going into this situation for so long no game in the world that valve releases will ever meet expectations. They will just get slammed into the ground. Also does valve have the time?

LTX, let's see. $80 in gas one way, no problem. LTX tickets, no problem. And,,,,, $1200 in hotels for just 3 nights. Yea, NO! Sounds cool but you're basically just supporting the local hotels and their crazy rates. When 90% of the cost of going is accommodation, there's something wrong. Yes, I could afford, it, no I choose absolutely not to.

So Valve had much better features and more of them, but they're old? What does that even mean..? It's tried and true, how is that bad? And don't Xbox and Playstation take 30% cuts on their stores also..?? Epic's 12% is unsustainable, and they can only do it with that massive Fortnite cash stack.
Even if all that is wrong, the RL community is realizing that the steam workshop stuff is gonna be gone which is a BIG deal for RL

My code of ethics with key resellers has always been that its fine with big companys like EA but you shouldnt do it with smaller/newer studios that need every sale. Mind you that was back in the past when i was still in school and didnt have enough money for all the games all i wanted.

It would make no sense for valve to take up Epic on their challenge. Valve already has a well developed platform that has a certain value, the value is substantially higher than a new platform like Epic so they should be able to charge a premium for it (then its up to each developer to decide if its worth it or not). What that premium is, is up to the eye of the beholder.
Epic is setting a challenge out there that costs them very little (they give up on exclusives, which are a few titles a year that actually costs them money and is actually creating negative publicity for them), and in exchange valve would give up to 60% of their revenue? (from 30% to 12% as it was originally)....nope....

Please explain how Valve has become complacent? They invested a ton of money and hours into Open Source Software. Improving support on more platforms ( Proton for Linux), VR and their own OS. I agree, it is not what most people are expecting or what they wanted. However, we cannot just say that valve isn't doing anything. Valve has done so much for the Linux ecosystem over the last two years. I do think they should release new and more first party games. Nevertheless, valve are continuously investing in new market whether we agree with what they invest in.

About that Sweeney tweet: Of course, they will stop buying exclusivities if Steam matches their revenue split, because it will become much more expensive for them. They will need to pay a much bigger sum to convince the publisher to chose their store instead of steam, if the revenue split is the same. He basically said, that if Steam matches their revenue, they will have to back off and possibly even abandon the epic store idea. Their revenue split is the only thing they got against steam. If they were to lose that, it's game over.

Epic Games is just the devil for me. The games I absolutely love are Borderlands and Rocket League and they are just stealing them away from my preferred platform. I'm sure the games will still be fine but I've been collecting Steam achievements, badges, in-game hours, screenshots and everything else that has anything to do with these games on my Steam profile. I couldn't care less about Epic Games supposedly sending data to China, they can have it but I just want the option to have my games on the platform I prefer and to showcase them and my progress on my Steam profile like I've been used to for years now.

That is MY problem with this whole Epic Games thing.

39:08 The EGS has a timeline talking specifically about implementing features... and they almost always mention how long a game is going to be exclusive for but it's more on the game publisher/developer than Epic to spell that out

The MAIN argument for reselling of keys is that even if "it's technically lost revenue if you sell a key at a discount" would be that you can't guarantee that person would've bought it at full price either. so it's the same slippery slope as piracy. "I wanted to sell teslas for 50 million" isn't an argument for X amount of millions in lost revenue and at the end of the day as long as they're legitimately obtained legally, it's still more sold copies.
