The 2019 FIDE World Cup is taking place in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from 10 September to 4 October. The 128-player knockout tournament features most of the world's best players. The total prize fund is $1.6 million, with $110,000 for the winner and $6,000 for first round losers. The finalists will qualify for the 2020 Candidates Tournament that determines Magnus Carlsen's next World Championship challenger.
The format is six knockout rounds of 2-game classical matches before a 4-game final. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. If the score is tied the players then play two 25-minute + 10-second increment rapid games, then two 10+10 games, then two 5+3 and, finally, Armageddon, where White has 5 minutes to Black's 4 but a draw qualifies Black for the next round. 4:54 black has rook and two knights for the queen. White has two extra pawns. This doesn't look completely winning. White might be better.

Rh1+ move reminded me Rashid's Rh1+ against Oleg Chernikov. That would be an awesome move if Jeffery found it. Homage to Rashid after Magnus' homage to Botvinnik.

Actually they both are furious about each other so they only attack without seeing the counter.. Otherwise duda never go for this

A shame for Duda, but congrats to Jeffrey for such a dynamic game. Lord knows we don't need any more draws.

Agdamator seems to have the grasp of about a B-class player, makes general observations that are not too deep or throws in a short computer-derived variation... in other words fairly simple stuff. He is putting out personality but not much else; he is after clicks and getting them. I would advise don't waste your time. Powerplaychess is a much better commentary, by a Grandmaster. Or for that matter, even Kingscrusher or Matojelic

I’m surprised, but also not surprised that he missed the check with the queen. It was the first move I saw but it also makes sense to attack with the rook, esp in blitz as you said. Interesting what an amateur sees sometimes vs what a pro sees.

Young Jeffrey has played exceptional. The first blitz game with black he was dominating and didn't see the winning move, k-g3. Then Duda turned the tide. For Jeffery to come back from that and win the match is incredible. Great match by both.

It bent my mind even more than the programming.

I need to go take a break from Agadmator's channel. But of course I will be back.
