From director John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side), THE HIGHWAYMEN follows the untold true story of the legendary lawmen who brought down Bonnie and Clyde. When the full force of the FBI and the latest forensic technology aren’t enough to capture the nation’s most notorious criminals, two former Texas Rangers (Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson) must rely on their gut instincts and old school skills to get the job done. For all of you talking about how "historically accurate" this is for one thing Bonnie never killed anybody. At the time of the Easter Sunday massacre Bonnie had injuried her leg in a car accident making her unable to walk on it. For the rest of her short life she either hopped for short distances or had Clyde carry her. So she could have never walked up with a shotgun. It was physically impossible.

the most lackluster performance from Kevin Costner as always , Woody Harelson has just given up trying it seems, the movie moved at tthe speed of a garden snail on a sunday stroll.

I am so glad to have finally watched a film that doesn't romanticize those two homicidal sociopaths. Very good movie. I strongly recommend it.

Very good movie. Where do you get all those old cars in 2019. When law enforcement can't do the job, they drag costner out of retirement and he doesn't disappoint. He needs a sidekick and his preferred list is full of deceased cops, up steps harrelson.

For being set in the middle of the "Dust Bowl" drought, it sure rained a lot in this manhunt movie. For the sake of historical accuracy, the director should have avoided filming on rainy days and nights.

Did anyone else notice that only Bonnie was shot through the front windshield? If Hamer and Gault were in front of the car as was depicted, they were the ones to shoot Bonnie. I guess it was out of kindness for the other officers there. It still feels wrong though.

The shock and fright on their deceptively innocent faces as it dawned on them that the show us up. Hands reaching for their guns for one last go, but not before a posse of men appeared from behind the trees, weapons poised.
The cracking sound of multiple gunfire; Bonnie and Clyde's recoiling bodies as the unrelenting bullets speared through them; blood-spattered upholstery; spider-web crack on the windshield; bullet-ridden car; and finally, the crumpled, spent bodies of America's Most Wanted, dying the way they had lived - gruesomely. The crescendo - as the movie slowly for ninety minutes builds up to this scene.
The suddenness of the action, not even the rapid gunfire, is what shocks you. The outpouring of public grief at their death is what surprises you. The pensiveness and show of dignity by Hamer and Gault for the dead, irrespective of, is what gives you pause.

For those of you who think this movie is boring: I've read somewhere that these men had got a Ford V8, virtually lived in the car, and tried to think like them in order to find their next move. Real police work is boring.

Just finished it! I appreciated how Bonnie & Clyde were barely centered in the movie and how it focuses on the two leads hunting them down. When I learned how many people attended their funerals and were grabbing at their dead bodies in the car, it sickened me!
