We have been asked by a few people to sin this little indie film from the summer called Avengers: Endgame. And we had nothing else going on today, so we decided to cave to fan request for once. This movie was a crowd pleaser and currently stands as the highest grossing movie of all time. But it has plenty of sins, so buckle up, kids, let's go for a ride.
Next week: I don't remember. Some sins. Two videos. Something something.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

Something I just thought of, they can teleport to any point in time with the pym particles. Why not teleport to aid someone in fighting thanks just before he gets a stone that allowed him to take out 50%? Like, everyone suit up to help Strange and crew fight Thanos on Titan.
I know, I know. Only one timeline worked with them winning, but I still call bullshit that everything lined up perfectly anyway then.

    • Vortigon23
      Vortigon23 10 minutes ago

@Summer Tyme Alright, let's give an example why it's not. Show up right before Thor comes in Infinity war to attack Thanos. Hulk or Marvel force him to not be able to snap. He's already extremely weakened. With the entire crew beat the absolute shit out of him (wouldn't be hard with the axe buried in him). Get the stones (all at once) get out, do what you got to do, go back give giving stones to whoever. Not only in 1 timeline do you prevent the snap, you reverse it in your own timeline

    • Summer Tyme
      Summer Tyme 9 hours ago

“We go back and get the stones, before Thanos....Thanos doesn’t have the stones” - Scott.
“That’s not how it works.” - Nebula.
“Changing the past - doesn’t change the future” - Banner.
⬆️ You either forgot, or don’t get it. *DING*

    • Summer Tyme
      Summer Tyme 9 hours ago

*Dinging* this post for low CinemaIQ, and lazy film viewing. Why? Because there is a scene in the film explaining exactly why what you want to do can’t work. You either don’t understand it, [low IQ] or you were not listening. [lazy] Which is it?

TIME IN THE QUOMTOM RELEM IS NOT A YEAR TO A HOUR IT IS CONSTLY FLUCXING AND WHEN THEY SAVED JANE THEY WHERE IN A TIME SLOT WHERE THE TIMES MACHED. SO THIS TOTALLY MAKES SENCE.WHAT THEY DID IS MADE A MACHINE THAT WAS ABLE TO MULIPLUTAT THE TIME DIFFERENCE TO THERE ADVANTAGE. Sorry I like science and that sin kinda made me mad.

    • Summer Tyme
      Summer Tyme 9 hours ago

      rainbow alex Correct.
The film was intelligent about this point but CinemaSins is in way over their heads and can’t understand anything that isn’t dumbed down.
You have to speak to CinemaSins subscribers almost as if they are learning disabled or they won’t understand anything.
      In this case....
Pym particles - > energy source that can allow you to enter another dimension - the Quantum Realm.
Quantum Realm -> dimension containing time vortexes.
The time machine [Quantum Tunnel] manipulates the vortexes so that someone in the Quantum Realm can traverse.
Has nothing to do with 5 hours or 5 years. That is simply a specific example of what happened to Scott. Even Scott recognized this which is how he intuitively came up with the idea in the 1st place.

“You can’t go back to the past and kill someone who already had kids, “
⬆️ Just like you can’t go back in time - and get the stones so Thanos doesn’t have them, or kill baby Thanos so he never exists. *This is the dialogue that hulk is responding too - per your link.*
You guys can’t even understand *a single scene* in a movie. 😂

    • Summer Tyme
      Summer Tyme 13 hours ago

“If you killed someone who had kids - you destroyed their whole family tree”
You miss the whole point of what Hulk is saying. His dialogue come straight from *physicists* that marvel hired. You are disagreeing - because you either cannot listen, or are intellectually unable to grasp what the physicists had Hulk say.
The simplest possible language I can dumb this down to *for your and Jeremy’s sake is* -> You can’t change the past, because it already happened.
This is what most physicists think and they have a word for it: *Casualty.*
You can’t go back to the past and kill someone who already had kids, and therefore prevent them from having kids, according to this film *and to according physics,* which makes sense. Of course. This is physics. *You don’t understand that you are arguing with physics with our only debate weapon being - complete ignorance of physics.* 😂
You and CinemaSins video maker do not make sense, because neither of you have the foggiest clue to begin with. 😂 Certainly not about the physics of time.

      Dragon’s attack : Of course.
But the idea is way too complex for CinemaSins-brain (a condition of considering everything stoopid - that they are too dumb to understand)
Some of these idiots think atomizing the stones meant shrinking them. 😂 😂 😂 Because they don’t understand that matter is made up of trillions of atoms. There are more atoms in the human body than there are stars in the Milky Way galaxy.
Atomizing the stones means shattering them into endless trillions of atoms - so that their function still exists, but they cannot be used as a weapon again. In fact he succeeded in his goal. [balance the universe thru death and then die]
The future of the MCU will also likely reveal that there was more to this - than was understood at the time. [i’m saying Thanos will be back]

  • Sebastian Demerjian

You should've sinned "You murdered trillions!" because he didn't. There are about 8 billion people in the world, so half is 4 billion. If he wants to be simple, he can say, "You murdered billions!" Same thing, but they had to be wrong. But I also love this movie, so I hate myself.

*Professor Hulk's time travel class, in session*
Geometrically multiverse timelines are a tree structure with a common root and many branches.
Can you create a new branch in time? Yes that's a new future.
Can you alter an existing branch? No because it has already been formed.
How many trunks does a tree have? One, that's the common past from which our Universe was spawned.
Can you travel back to the present? Of course - the rule *in the film* was specifically you can't change the past, not that you can't travel to the present. When you make up your own rules of course you confound yourself - stop doing that. :)
How can you travel across multiple branches in time? Same way a squirrel traverses a tree - Branch to trunk, and then trunk to other branch.
*The squirrel does not need to JUMP laterally from branch to branch.....hellooo?*

    • Summer Tyme
      Summer Tyme Day ago

Remember if you don't understand Professor Hulk's time travel - it must be because the film is stoopid. Otherwise, well...it can't be you now. Likewise - I must be stoopid too. Because I understand it. If you don't.... ask questions, that's what smart people do.

How would the gauntlet allow such a complicated wish? The mind gem infinite augments mental prowess. The space and time gems allow one to see the entire the entire universe as it was, is, and will be. For a brief moment before the stones turned me into a toasted sock puppet, I would literally be the god of all time and space, and can see all eventualities, and could correct for them. Remember. With just the time stone, Dr Strange could see millions of timelines in mere seconds. What if he also had the space and mind gem? These comic book plots are about creativity and imagination.

    • Summer Tyme
      Summer Tyme Day ago

Lot's of goodness in this post. The Infinity Gauntlet story line was made to be the culmination of all of the MCU to this point because the story itself is one of the two best in the history of comic books. Watchmen is the other.

Both of these masterpieces are brilliant because they are far more imaginative and subversive than typical examples of the genre.

And some fans of the genre don't really like or understand either of them for that reason.

*CinemaSins subscribers are a never ending fount of Ignorance.*
But one of the laughable aspects of this forum is the smug so called comic book ‘fans’ who think calling themselves fans is somehow proof of expertise or self entitlement. [in critical thinking this is known as an appeal to authority fallacy]
For example: *They claim to know and love the comics - but they don’t understand how the enchantment on the hammer can allow Cap to ‘wield the lightening’*
    1) Invariably they don’t *know* the enchantment, and can’t quote it - which is like - fine - but then why are they shooing off fool mouths about how the enchantment should work...when they don’t even know what it is to begin with ? 😂
(The reason is they are just repeating what they hear from others and not thinking for themselves - which is also one of the things they use this site for - to get bs arguments that make no sense and then monkey-see monkey-do repeat them like absolutely idiots. 😂)
    2) They don’t know that the Enchantment in the film is *verbatim* - from the original Thor #1 comic as written written by Stan Lee.
    3) But worst of all: They are unable to think or understand even how comic book writing works - so can never process the fact that the real reason that Stan Lee created the enchantment was to allow a *mortal* - Dr. Donald Blake specifically to *possess the power of Thor.*
And this is because Stan Lee knew that character who is literally a God - is potentially *boring.* So Stan Lee needed Thor to be a man - who could - if worthy possess the power of a God.
I doubt that many CinemaSins readers could pass English literature 101, because it’s like you’ve never actually read and understood *any book* before. That includes the *comic books* you FAKE expertise in. 😂

    • Summer Tyme
      Summer Tyme 3 days ago

Other things the fake self entitled fans get wrong:
-> Professor Hulk - also a faithful recreation from Peter Davids best ever Hulk comic book run.
-> Cap giving Sam the shield instead of Bucky - Cap gave Sam the shield instead of Bucky in the comic too.
-> Cap *never* gave Bucky the shield. Bucky only ever got the shield in the run where Cap was assassinated and Nick Fury then gave Bucky the shield.
Fake fans can STFU, lol, go find another idiot with a website and parrot his foolishness then.

By the way - that’s how Jim Starlin - who created the original story described it - and it was one of his favorite scenes for _precisely_ the reasons that you hated it.
If you can’t even see this - then you do not understand *Infinity War* - so how can you understand EndGame?? It doesn’t matter whether you love or hate them - you *don’t understand* either one.
Jim Starlin, Stan Lee, Peter David (Hulk writer who created Professor Hulk), Kevin Feige, the Russo’s, screen writers Markus and McFeely .... are all super smart.
They all create art for smart audiences. All I can do is try to explain it to you, and if I can’t do that, then I certainly can’t fault the artists for not dumbing their work down further, then can I?

@Summer Tyme Hulk is define by his anger, the more angry he gets the stronger the hulk becomes. Judging by the attitude of Dr Hulk he doesn't seems to show any strength, in fact it was said that Dr Hulk is way smaller than regular Hulk, he couldn't even heal himself after snapping the gauntlet and it's funny cause one of hulk's super powers is incredible healing factor.

    • Summer Tyme
Summer Tyme 3 days ago +1

Nope Hulk was *stronger* in Endgame than he’d ever been before. Only little kids think that smash hulk is stronger because they have a childish notion of what strength is.
Thanos easily defeated Smash Hulk. But it’s Banner who wielded the Infinity Gauntlet and saved the Universe. Something Smash Hulk would never have been able to do. He can’t even use the elevator properly or take the stairs without making a mess of it. 😂

OneSillyPerson Nope. He’d already gained the mind stone by then, so clearly he’d been doing more than sitting on his butt. But this is a good example of how a slow witted film goer cannot infer anything that they don’t see...and only understands 1/2 of what they do see. *DING*

  • Summer Tyme
    Summer Tyme 4 days ago

*Why didn’t they show it? Why didn’t they more clearly explain it?*
Pertains to how Thanos time traveled, or why the Avengers can’t take the Gauntlet from Thanos, or why they can’t use standard action movie magical plot armor to make Tony Stark alive again.
The answer has to do with filmmaking 101. *Endgame has the biggest audience of any film in history.* Audiences vary in sophistication. Therefore the film has the widest range of sophistication levels....ever.
The problem with over-exposition, something that CinemaSins whines about often, is that by the time you finish over-explaining a film to the least sophisticated viewer - you’ve dumbed it down for the most sophisticated. This causes two problems.
#1 The film becomes boring. It no longer rewards thinking. It punishes it. (Like every Michael Bay film ever - basically) 😂
#2 The ending of the film and in the case of Infinity War - the *next* film, becomes easy to predict. Example:
If you saw scenes of Ebony Maw reverse Engineering Pym particles - then you *know* Thanos is going to time travel into the future and attack the Avengers. That’s why they don’t show this.
If you saw scenes with Banner in a lab trying to merge his two persona’s - you completely destroy the terrific scene where you, like Scott (who has been gone for 5 years) are shocked and delighted to learn what has happened to Hulk.
If they literally explain to you that the soul stone makes Thanos immortal. IE - Wong in Infinity War could say - > *Thanos would be immortal if he gets the soul stone* , then it becomes obvious to the viewer that the fight in Infinity War is hopeless.
If they show you that Iron Man spent 5 years working on a Nano Gauntlet - 1st alone in his lab when he could not rest, and then with Wakanda Tech, and Guardians tech from Nebula, and with geniuses Banner and Rocket (who is a master weapons-smith with an IQ of 200 - he is super hero after all and intellect is his power). If they show you the Avengers gathering up the wreckage of Thanos Gauntlet as Rocket surely would (stealing rubbish is his genius raccoon thing!), then you know at the beginning of Endgame that iron Man is going to make another Gauntlet.
Instead all of the above is foreshadowed, as good films do, and not over-explained as bad films do.
The result is a film that perceptive film goers can enjoy, whereas dull film goers can only sin everything as being ‘stoopid’ which is just their ego-saving-face-palming way of glorifying their own slow wittedness. 😂

Most of all, and the most important point CinemaSins subscribers don’t seem to have the cognitive capacity to understand 😂 - is that *this is why Thanos needed all 6 stones to begin with - and this is why the Avengers needed to get all 6 stones back.* You can’t undo the snap with the time stone alone. You are reversing time - back to a time - when the person who snapped controlled time. Checkmate. [As if CinemaSins understood chess. They are still trying to double jump death so that everyone can have a fairy tale ending. 😂]

    • Summer Tyme
Summer Tyme 4 days ago +1

Tony Stark was killed when he used the Infinity Gauntlet - and all the stones. He is laying there dead with the right 1/2 of his body essentially disintegrated.
If Dr. Strange takes the following action in order ->
      1) Take Time stone off of the IronMan nano Gauntlet.
      2) Put time stone in Eye of Agamotto.
      3) Focus on Stark’s corpse and rewind time... then...
What is the 1st thing that will happen?
The time stone will leave the Eye of Agamotto and go *back to Stark.*
This is an *exact* analogy of the mind stone going back to Vision.
But now you have a devastating problem - > You no longer have the timestone.
It is not even in the Eye of Agamotto anymore. And *it can’t be.* Because it wasn’t. Iron Man had it, and you just turned back time locally *on him.* Just like Vision.
Furthermore -> You are not controlling time anymore. *Stark is.*
*Why?* Because the moment in time where *he controlled time* is what you just rewound to. Just as surly as Thanos reversed the mind stones past and brought Vision back to life - reversing the Time stones past locks you out of time and makes Iron Man’s snap irreversible.

    • Summer Tyme
Summer Tyme 4 days ago +1

In Infinity War - Thanos turns back time on Vision.
He does this because he wants to get the mind stone.
But how does turning back time on Vision - bring back the mind stone?
Because in any pocket of time involving Vision if you take him back in time - the mind stone goes back to him.
This means if the mind stone was destroyed - it is reassembled inside of Vision.
Since taking the mind stone is what kills him - Thanos inadvertently brings Vision back to life.
      You follow... ??
The mind stone - Visions death are interrelated. If you turn back events in time for Vision you also give the mind stone back to him - because he had it.
Clear.... OK good, now let’s talk about Tony Stark...

The scene is *very carefully constructed.* But careful construction to CinemaSins is akin to feeding fine cuisine to a slob who just wants a Big Mac. He thinks everything is ‘stoopid’ 😂

Thanos is a nihilist. For a Nihilist - more life is not a *solution.*
Nihilist is the root term for annihilate. For Thanos life and death are out of balance - and only death can restore that balance.... *as all things should be.*
You are are asking him to further imbalance the Universe - this is in violation of everything he believes in. The characters act *according to their beliefs - not yours.*
Here is the part that CinemaSin’s subscribers don’t understand, because they don’t understand how to read narratives. It’s not for you to get fictional characters to agree with your opinion, or argue with them as if they were real. Your task is only to understand their perspective and how it informs their actions and moves the story along, while advancing the themes.
I know you don’t get it.... That’s the point. This isn’t a simple minded film. And that’s why you don’t understand it.

That assessment is fair because you want the film to not have a 5 year time jump in order to create a ‘fake’ happy ending. But that’s not the intention of the filmmakers - and what you want would absolutely destroy the most interesting and praised aspect of the film - which is the character study, and which requires time for grief and loss and growth and change.
Which you A) do not understand, and B) would not appreciate anyway.
You basically want a garbage movie - and EndGame isn’t that.

Millions of soldiers go off to war and leave lovers and spouses behind - they come back and their loved ones have found new lovers or even remarried. *This is what happens in the real life.*

Yes there are all kinds of problems in the world as a consequence of the events in the film. *That’s not a failure of the film.* Film’s don’t have to end happily ever after like fairy tales. *Dismissing all the usual fan service whinings*
-They can’t cut off his arm and kill him or take the stones.
Gamora cut his *throat* earlier in the film, and that didn’t work - he has the reality stone, you fight in his pocket reality - you die, you’re dead, he dies he steps thru from one reality into the next. Reality is what he makes it.
-He has the space stone, he has the soul stone. His spirit is everlasting - if you could destroy his body - his spirt would take your body and cast your soul into hell.
    - You can’t freeze him in time because he moves without time - space stone, makes him Omnipresent. {get dictionary - look up word}
    - You can’t use any kind of portal on him including cutting him with a portal for the same reason. He shattered mirror dimension with and turned into a micro black hole. [power stone, reality stone]
    - As for literally cutting him *Dr. Strange tried to do that with the Sword of Vishanti* (basically a light saber) and thanos caught it and stopped it with his bare hands. *Another great scene in Infinity War* that all these videos simply forget or never understood when they saw it, to begin with. How can you ‘rewrite’ a film when you are too lazy to watch it, and too dumb to understand it in the 1st place?? 😂
Dr. Strange’s actual strategy was as brilliant as the fan fictions are incredibly knuckle headed. He realized they could never defeat Thanos and take the stones. The only path to victory required allowing Thanos to win. It succeeded precisely because it was mind bendingly abstract. He sent a message to the ancient one effectively beyound time, and beyond their own deaths.
He transgresses death instead by giving Thanos what he wants in exchange for allowing Stark to live.... and then relying on Stark agonizing over his own failure to get the gauntlet and come up with a nano tech Gauntlet that takes the *stones from the gauntlet* given that no one - ever - even once could take the gauntlet from Thanos.
The story’s intelligence is appreciated even more when watching these videos and fan boys flounder around trying to understand it, and whiffing on it. 😂
So all of these fan fictions repeated all over the internet are *factually wrong.* Every - single - one - of - them. 😂

No everyone doesn’t survive this, but *Avengers do.*
    Unlike CinemaSins, Thanos is intelligent.
-> Thanos goal is to separate the Avengers from the stones, then draw any survivors to him so that Nebula can go and get the stones. This is clever because *they still don’t know* Nebula is not on their side. If she is unharmed, she can just roll up and.take the Gauntlet. Indeed though Hawkeye beats her to it.... *he gives the Gauntlet to her.*
-> This means - he needs to make sure Nebula is not harmed. Nebula 2014 is the one who sabotages the Avengers and pulls Thanos into the future to begin with. She is *the commando* executing Thanos plan - and flawlessly.
-> She is really undone because Nebula 2023 kills her, and that happens because Gamora switches sides. *This is - from Thanos perspective - the main reason why he lost, and the one thing he did not anticipate. And this is elegant because his love for Gamora and sacrifice of her, was from his own view - the one thing he felt guilty about in the 1st place.
-> Thanos isn’t trying to kill the Avengers. He has a death-star StarShip and could destroy the planet from Space - if that were his primary goal.
-> Thanos isn’t worried about the Avengers - this becomes *crystal clear* when he handily defeats Iron Man, Cap and Thor combined, much to the chagrin of the comic book kids.
-> Captain America and IronMan ‘were’ hurt in the attack - IronMan is *bleeding.* Cap was unconscious when Tony went to revive him. Note - unlike Thor, who is completely unharmed and flys right out to go confront Thanos.
-> You could ask that they be hurt more ‘seriously’ but this would make for a lame final fight with Thanos and provide the kids with an excuse for their ass beating.
-> Ant Man shrinks and yes that would help him survive. Why? It increases his strength to weight ratio, it decreases his likelihood of being directly hit, he has a greater ability to survive a fall from gravity as he is a as light as an insect, and it decreased the likelihood of something falling on top of him. *That’s why Rhodie and Rocket are pinned but Scott is not.*
-> Clint survived because he has his grapple. So he latched on to something before he fell. *Note this is the same strategy/tool he used to defeat the outriders.* *They are Avengers.* Not low IQ idiots on CinemaSins. 😂 That’s the difference.

*But no one was even hurt* - Wrong.
      Iron Man is bleeding.
Cap was knocked unconscious. Iron Man has to revive him.
Rhoadie and Rocket are being crushed. Hulk is holding up the building with 1 hand - which is why they are not dead, and which by the way - is a nod to Secret Wars comic book.
Hawkeye uses his grapple to prevent himself from falling to his death - and continues to use it to escape from the Outriders.
AntMan *shrinks* before the explosion his the outside of the building. Yes this helps him survive the fall,l and prevents him from being crushed or pinned by the wreckage like Rocket or Rhodes.
Scott and Rocket help Rhodie get into new Armor - which is seen in the background.
With Hulk holding up the building Antman grows into giant size, then then grabs Hulk, Rocket and Rhodes and smashes thru the debris of the shattered building.

In my opinion all the video does is ask questions that smart people can answer. But dullards cannot. The problem with this is two fold.
1 -> Asking a question is not proving a sin. BirdMan quite nicely exposes the stupidity of this method from his everything wrong with CinemaSins videos. [which are superior to Jeremy's videos since he tries to think, whereas Jeremy tries play dumb and be a smart alec]
2 -> The questions are only dittoed by people who are qually dense.
For example if you can't even tell time, or understand the logic of the passage time - then you can't follow why Peter friends are still in school.
So you think the video is close.
But if, like most 3rd graders - you've learned how to tell time, or understand what death is... then the answer is obvious, so the question is actually silly and not even close.

“Why did he snap second time on another planet?”
⬆️ And .....How do you know he snapped second time on another planet? *Because the effect is registered everywhere in the Universe per Rocket* - unlike anything else ever seen - *again per Rocket.*
So your question remains predicated on something that is already answered - *It doesn’t matter where Thanos is when he snaps - it effects the entire universe.* You answer your own question but pretend to be too stupid to understand it. It’s weird when *playing dumb* is the only way to save your foolish pride.

naveen kumar Very good - if you understand that Thanos will is all powerful and everywhere in the universe at the same time, then that answers your question. 😂
But you can try to save face by asking a new and equally daft question, like...

@Summer Tyme omnipotent ( have unlimited power ) omnipresent ( god like can be everywhere same time ) I know the meaning of those if he can do snap anywhere everywhere at the same time why did he snap second time on another planet?

He seems upset about Tony & Dr. Banner making breakthroughs in such a short amount of time. They are not called geniuses for nothing.

David Honez Not only that - but they are characters with the most actual experience with the Stones. They have worked with the space stone and the mind stone in Avengers and Age of Ultron.
Vision *is* living machine housing an Infinity Stone which is ultimately based on Stark Tech. Rocket has an IQ of 200 and is genius weapon smith - his is a *genius* which is also his super power.
He is not ‘just’ a talking Raccoon. 😂 And they have - the original though now useless Thanos Gauntlet that they cut off his arm. They have Wakanda tech, and the results of Shuri’s work on Vision.
No - the film does not spend exposition time reminding us of all that, but CinemaSins #1 contradiction continues to be that they sin exposition [sinsposition] then turn around and sin films for not taking time to explain the obvious to their *audience of idiots.*
In fact sinning ‘missing exposition’ is their number 1 trick as it always gets dittoed by the stupidest members of the audience. You know the ones who still can’t figure out why Peter’s friends are still in school. 😂-> And - they never will.

Alex BOWER So you’re saying only an idiot would judge a film by the arbitrary number of ‘sins’ some dim bulb on the internet gives it?

Avengers: Thanos his work must be undone.
Me: actually, i agree with Thanos. The entire universe is overpopulated with the men-like animals at some planets. Thanos his death should be the end of everything because like CinemaSins said: and how about people who appear in water because they are in a boat?
