  • I Spent $275 on Broken Joy-Cons - Can I Fix Them for Profit? I bought 18 untested Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons on eBay to see if I could fix them and then sell them to make money. The Joy-Con conditions varied with some working correctly already and others having problems like broken R buttons, control stick issues, a missing rail, and I even fixed a controller that wouldn't stop buzzing.

About This Video: I bought 18 Switch Joy-Con controllers for $15.27 per controller. The most common problem I found was broken R buttons but I also had to work on thumb stick problems, replace a missing rail, and replace a motherboard. I ended up being able to fix 16 out of the 18 and I've already sold 5 of them for a profit of about $10 per controller.

There has been a class action lawsuit filed against Nintendo for broken Joycons... I feel like game consoles are getting progressively more fragile with each generation.

@Alex Ochoa kek ok you Chinese booth worker, not everyone does component level repairs, sometimes it's easier to swap boards... I realise I sound like apple, but honestly, if he still makes profit and the clients don't pay more... I don't see an issue...

Seems like a lot of work for each one to make just 10 or 15 bucks a piece. I can't stop watching it though cause I know if I tried any of this I would screw it up so bad and I love seeing stuff get taken apart and fixed like this.

    Great video.
I just finished re-shellingy my Joy-Cons, and now the zR but isn't registering. I've taken it apart and everything looks perfect. The tact switch clicks and everything is intact. The ribbon cable appears to be properly seated. Driving me nuts. Any suggestions for further troubleshooting?

Great channel.. i just wanted to let you know that ive had a joycon that works fine in general however it had a problem connecting sideways (as a single controller ) it would only work as a right joycon not when you pair it as a single controller... Just thought you should know that ..
Keep up the great work !

That electric precision screwdriver would be so helpful. I broke my right wrist a few years back and even since then that repetitive motion of using a screw driver destroys my wrist.
