Hey guys, never mentioned that a lot of the v10 entertainment options won’t be available to us Model S and Model X owners who bought before March 2018. Not everyone has a current year Model 3, S, or X. Just thought it should be mentioned that all of us pre March 2018 S and X owners won’t be getting those new features. Maybe it would give us a voice and Tesla’s attention in the matter. Thanks!

I love the idea of rating supercharger locations. I love the authenticity of consumer rated places (like yelp does). The only drawback of it, is that everyone's rating systems don't match up. In the video, I would have rated that Jalisco Supercharging station way better than the following, but he rated it conservatively lower than the station shown after.

those lap times do not include real race cars like formula one cars. The lap record is about 1'05.786, which is about 5 secs faster than the faster car in your list. There's a bunch of race cars that can get sub 1'10 lap times. Maybe the list is of street legal cars?

When you guys make the decision to talk politics, try being less biased and cover both sides of a story ... it turns people like myself away from your channel after being a fan for some time. I went from watching every single NowYouKnow video for years to now only watching 1 every handful because of this. Keep in mind that half of your audience is voting Trump 2020, so try giving him a bone now and then when it's warranted, rather than just shitting on his policies by addressing them from only one perspective. I dont need more political opinions thrown my way when i'm trying to get my Tesla and Elon news. Thank you

Fair enough - but what exactly is the 'other side of the story' with the light bulbs? I can't see that anyone would think it's a good idea to spend more on electricity each month just so they can keep using incandescent bulbs. And let's not pretend that they are significantly cheaper than LED bulbs if you factor in how long the LED bulbs last.

The thing you may have missed in the light bulb story is the HEAT generated by incandescent bulbs, which are little furnaces. In most American homes this heat needs to be removed via A/C that requires yet more fossil based electricity.

I buyed LED for my home 6 Years ago for around 150€, because I was pissed af of changing this stupid 20 Cent Bulbs every 4 weeks. And these old expensive LED lights still work without problems... Nowadays they’re even better and MUCH cheaper. Saves you time, saves you money (not having to buy bulbs anymore) and saves you electricity bills... Why the hell wouldn’t you buy them, wtf ?

Because the majority of people love liberty & freedom. I love LED bulbs but some people like Incandescent. CFL has flicker that some people have problems with. Artists need full spectrum bulbs which means incandescent bulbs to see colors correctly. On top of that there are high efficiency incandescent bulbs like Halogen.
Then in the cold areas of the country the heat of incandescent bulbs offsets the heating of the home so its a wash.
If Trump is bad are you saying having full employment, jobs coming back to America and the renaissance of manufacturing is bad???
Plus the fact the USA has met the goals of the environmental treaties ahead of the target dates while all the other countries are not even close to the stated goals. The USA did this without signing on to treaties that would funnel money from the US to the rest of the world.
The more we manufacture here in the US with our clean coal power plants means its not being produced in China with their extremely dirty coal power plants. That alone massively reduces global pollution. That is if you care about the planet more than you hate the bad orange man. :-)
So if I were you I would put some balm on that butt hurt.

I can't stand Donald Trump he is the single biggest barrier to energy progression in America, Tesla would have a bigger impact on emissions by running him over with a model 3.

    • Paul Nourse
      Paul Nourse 29 days ago

@diablowlk I am in no way wanting to speed up the natural progression by taking away people's Liberty and forcing them to use a product they do not want to use. The point I previously made that you have missed or ignored is that in some situations and for some people CFL and led lighting is unacceptable and even detrimental to their health.
Freedom killing big government one-size-fits-all would force those people into untenable situations. Government one-size-fits-all is bullshit.
Then you go on to use disparaging remarks how I'm in the pocket of fox or the energy industry or some other Boogeyman bulshit. 😃😄😅
The energy industry is actively trying to slow the introduction of the electric car. They can no longer stop it but for every day they delay it the energy industry makes 1 billion dollars. I believe somewhere around 40% of the oil is used by ICE (internal combustion engine) cars. Light bulbs don't even get on their radar because the amount of power is miniscule.
We see when your argument fails you start attacking the messenger. 😃🤣😂
You just love an all powerful government that controls every aspect of your life. Those of us with brains and know history understand how dangerous that is.
In the USA our form of government was designed to limit government growth and to protect the individual and the rights they were born with.
Yet our Founders knew even this form of government will eventually grow too big and go bad. That is the entire purpose of our Second Amendment to protect our right to self-defense, especially from our government.

    • diablowlk
      diablowlk 29 days ago

@Paul Nourse you said it yourself you had cfl lightbulbs before anything, led is the natural progression of things, these regulations would simply speed up the process. Your simply spewing out Fox news and libertarian and right wing propaganda, so that the fossil fuel industry can dig up as much profit from the earth at the expense of it and the people. And there is no such thing as clean coal, stop spreading false information. Now if you want to talk how can we help the people that are going to lose their jobs because of advancements in technology, then we can have a conversation. Don't tell me that we need to revert back to burning cow chips because of jobs and that solar doesn't work, because it does.

    • Paul Nourse
      Paul Nourse Month ago

@diablowlk you are not making much sense. It is you that wants a ban on incandescent bulbs. Removing the limits govt put on what can be sold does not stop adoption of newer more efficient forms of lighting. However in some areas where I need hi color index I supplement with incandescent. It's my freedom, it's my choice. I had CFLs long before government even thought of mandating anyting.
The point you miss is that our current president doesn't like government telling the people what they can and cannot do. That doesn't mean he wants to allow industries to pollute.
Eliminating insane regulations and red tape that are killing Clean Coal and driving up the cost of electricity which drives manufacturing out of the country to places like China with filthy coal power plants is not destroying the environment. Unless you're only concerned about the US environment and think the air from China doesn't affect us? Even so our coal power plants are extremely clean because of laws and regulations they have not been removed, nor is anyone planning to remove them.
You say Trump is in the pocket of of the coal industry. Was Obama in the pocket of the Iranians and the Russians. Actually Obama was in their pocket, willingly. Trump on the other hand understand that if you kill off the energy sector you kill the American economy. Do you expect him to not do things the people do not like? He made certain campaign promises and was elected to fulfill them. That makes him in the pocket of the American people. He has fulfilled more campaign promises than all the presidents of my lifetime combined. Pulling out the EPA dagger the Obama administration put in the heart of the coal industry was just one of those campaign promises. It helps both the coal industry and the people. You know the same people and businesses that President Trump was elected to represent.
You must be a special kind of stupid to think it's a presidents job to piss off the people, kill the power industry and hope that failing wind and solar will somehow magically power the massive electrical grid.
If solar and wind were any good more people and investers would buy into it. It is a Niche power generation that will get better with time and play a small roll in power production. The physical laws of nature dictate it can never replace the large power plants. Current windmills kill birds and they require lots of energy to produce. Solar, no matter how efficient, requires massive land areas. Centralized solar mirror facilities have their own problems. Plus they vaporize Birds in the intense light beams.
Nuclear is extremely clean and new designs are extremely safe.

    • diablowlk
      diablowlk Month ago

That is the most ridiculous argument ever, the mandate is to replace all lightbulbs with led, not ban all lightbulbs, you could still buy whatever you want, the lightbulb police are not coming for you. Where's the oil lamps run by whale oil or how about horses on the street, do you want to give up your cellphone and only use a landline. You are stopping the natural progression so you can regress. As for jobs, your president can create thousands of green jobs but refuses to, because he manipulates the vulnerable people into thinking that coal jobs and fossil jobs is the only way forward. Not to mention he is in the pockets of the fossil fuel industry. So to you my Dodo friend, if you hate technology move from the big city and settle in a small town and crawl into a cave and get black lungs.

I think you guys are wrong about the use of the third motor
We all know the model s/x can accelerate like a bat out of hell from 0-60, but starts to fall on its face at higher speeds.
The third motor will be geared for the meat of the power to be 60-120mph
Because right now, the 60ft time and 0-60 would usually equate to a 9 second car, but it loses steam after 60mph giving us 10 second cars.

I'm really all for renewables but I think often your statements are not completely thought through from that perspective. Regarding argument abut the light bulbs and 15% of all cars could be powered if there'd be the stage 2 etc and saying it would shut down coalplants. Like, you really don't want to charge your EV with fossil fueled electricity aaand if it would make the coal industry extinct the energy wouldn't be produced. Feels like you give it a double effect, while the real effect would just be less power production, aka less power plants. Maybe I'm way to unclear, my English isn't the best.
Otherwise I've binged your channel while at work, love to hear you two talk about all these stuff!

The only people who will agonize over Taycan Vs Tesla are the super-rich who have nothing else to do.
