The Like button controversy: The UK is spiralling down the ‘nanny state’ control and ban everything hole. Literally guys...every activity you can indulge in is regulated and legislated to death. All laws and rules introduced piecemeal and slow with little or no public announcement. You won’t know you broke any law or regulation until you run foul of it. Most of this micro control of the population comes from EU diktats which the UK Government must enact. Canada by contrast is the most free country in the world with minimal interference in citizens lives.

Why does Linus handle jerky in the same fashion he handles a penis on his first day as a cell bitch? So much reticence. I believe the sponsor demands more... His cellmate most assuredly will.

They want to ban like buttons because of the well understand psychological negatives that come with it and that have been directly linked to contributing heavily to the increasing amount of depression in the modern generation. There is no such thing with achievements despite having similar functioning mechanisms because few people care about other people's achievements so they don't compare while social media affects billions of people's minds.

I don't even understand the purpose of the galaxy fold outside of the R&D for potential future applications of folding screens. It doesn't even fold in the right direction.

$30 for a water bottle that you can NOT put in the dishwasher, microwave, freezer, place in direct sunlight, keep a bananasplit chill and cant store liquids for more than "16 hours" (cold drinks) ..
yeah. no.. if im paying $30 for a plastic water jug, but it has THAT many restrictions ... it should at the very least walk my dog, make my coffee, and cuddle with me on those long chilly nights alone..

other than that ... love the WAN shows guys. :)

With the lack of perspective in most of the water bottle photos, the thing looks like some kind of fuel cell or rechargable AA battery replacer.

I've seen how The Verge builds a PC - so anything technical above and beyond an Etch-A-Sketch is not something that I would trust The Verge to be able to operate.
That they would break the Samsung phone is pretty much a given.

Let's face it, The Verge thinks you need to wear a cock-ring to build a PC.

LINUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quit descending into the "LIKE HOLE" Where everyone becomes addicted to using the word like in each and every sentence. It is usually caused by dim wittedness. Please avoid the decline of your intelligible dialogue to us you audience- who still care about literacy and language.

I wanted to share my own experience regarding shipment.
    I bought a 2x 4GB DDR2 ram from eBay for about 22$ shipping included.
It shipped from Hong Kong and reached me here in India in 15 days and about been 6 months till this happened.
That may not be a big deal for you, but it was a huge deal for me, Yes I was careful while picking the seller. Also did not had a credit/debit card so a relative helped me out.
Getting that thing at that cost when it's nowhere to be found and costed like 50$ for shipping when bought from US, yes it was a huuuuge deal for me.

I think the idea behind the banning of like button is because of the data that companies collect with the like button. Tracking and profiling minors. I personally don't like or agree with the method they've chosen to try to fix it. Legislation doesn't solve everything. But I understand why they are doing it

  • Vince Pale

It would be interesting to see if you could block likes for certain profiles as a parental control.

I don't think any gov't regulation will keep up quick enough to shut the door on new innovative ways to increase user engagement.
