    I like you.
From the very second I saw your face .
It has nothing to do with you saying 666 although that did garner you extra merit for me.
    You are my new.

You should tell people on how to say "Y" and "J" in Finnish, because from an English speakers perspective, you are assuming knowledge of the learner on how to pronounce those letters. If you have already touched upon this. Then sorry for wasting your time. Though, your level of detail on how to pronounce the words are very good, concise and in-depth.

Hello my favourite finnish teacher. :)
Would you like to expand this video with some new information about the numbers? The first, second, third etc are quite different in the finnish language than the avarage numbers like yksi, kaksi... etc. It could be interesting and if you think the same I will looking forward to see your new video. Kiitos

Plot twist! In actual spoken Finnish the numbers are said in a simplified way. So you won't understand the final price at the super-market when the cashier tells it, for example, even if you know these well.
Can you make a video on how numbers are like in spoken Finnish?

In my dialect/language variation (meänkieli) it's: yks, kaks, kolme, neljä, viis, kuus, seittemän, kaheksan, yheksän, kymmenen.
And we don't pronounce the a in kaks like you do. But I like how you pronounce it! Where are you from?

@grusplan I would shorten 7-10, the rest would sound so lame being so shortened.

What is tha difference between a and ä

    • snillocgrom
      snillocgrom Year ago +1

"a" is like the a in father (but not quite as long, it's short). "ä" is close (but not quite) to the a in words like cat, pan, dad, crack, sack, etc. a is a back of the mouth a and ä is a front of the mouth a.

If you want to practice more. Write down 1 - 10 in Finnish. Then go here.
and set the numbers 1 through 10. Click random and see if you can name the number. Only look at your notes if you are "REALLY" stuck and in the beginning. It took me less than 10 minutes to grasp them. BTW Great Video!

Can you explain more about the Finnish "names" of the numbers, like ykkönen, kakkonen, kolmonen, etc.? This a very interesting feature of Finnish. It would be nice to know how these "names" are used.

  • Patrycja Jadwi Malinowska

Could you tell me how to say "numbers" in Finnish (I'm starting a Finnish "journal" and I need it for the title and I don't trust google translate)?😊
