hope that this answers ur questions guys! love u, and i will see u guys a-next time :) EDIT: for any questions on us not being able to respond to YT comments - it was protocol, not a "contracted" rule or a "fire-able" offense, but we were definitely told that we were not supposed to do it. anyone who has done it either has a different contract than i did or is just flaunting the rules (which some do and I did a few times). and, yes, none of the ladylike girls are allowed to be in my videos anymore!

here in 2020, i think LadyLike has gone way downhill since Safiya left. they haven’t posted in about three months now. so therefore i think that they could not have the support for LadyLike without Safiya. i am proud that Safiya left because of these reasons she mentioned. even though some people are a little curious about this. EDIT: i only really enjoyed watching the videos with Safiya or Chantel.

This was definitely the right move for Safiya! I think she makes some of the best content on the platform. I watch her videos over and over just because they’re fun and entertaining. Hope you keep putting out the wonderful content!

I just came back to revisit this video, and I realized that I forgot that I originally found Saf on Buzzfeed.
Her content is so quality. Like a different level. It's like my brain didn't make that connection anymore.

This is something that happened to youtube in general over the years. That bit by bit everything was made more corporate. I know you need multiple people and resources to continuously produce quality content, but that divorce of "high level decisions" from the actual content producers is slowly ruining content in my opinion.
You can see that in Hollywood too. Just look at the previous Spiderman movies from Sony. Both series started out great but were ruined by executive decision making.

Your data and image should be your property. That's an important lesson even when using social media. What you think is "private" isn't. It can be used without you receiving any compensation at all or credit.
I ran into this problem working at a financial company in Nashville. They would use their employees images on their billboards without your consent or compensation. We were warned about this in training class our image could just suddenly appear. I had a HUGE problem with this I avoid pictures. I'm not on social media. I'm very careful who I take pictures with which is practically no one. I do this for a good reason. You do not know who you can accidentally endorse like a child molester or rapist you had no idea was. Now, you have a picture that exists next to this person. That has lasting effects on your life.
Also, your intellectual property such as your pictures, posts even your art can only be yours if you have the money to protect that content including trademarking your brand. An important example the breast cancer ribbon scam. It was taken from a lady who started that to actually help people with cancer which was then taken by a company to use for essentially selling products that actually cause cancer while getting the tax breaks for being for "charity". The list goes on. Your children are fair game. Posting content about your children or family means pedophiles have content now. This has been shown through I believe RU-clip algorithms the videos with children did end up in some very sick places. Someone is profiting it's just not you especially in the ways you expect.
Understand what you are really exposing yourself to on social media especially. In all my years I refuse to be infront of the cameras until I'm ready and own the content. Over saturation is a problem as well. You do not know what you are really inventing in your life posting. That's the reality of our word. Not only that the police can't really protect you from stalkers. Even not posting me emailing the White House exposed my life to scrutiny including pictures a guy who raped me being shared.
Your data isn't private. It's saved every horrifying naked picture on. Think how those can be used? It's terrifying. Lotta trauma.

Saf currently has 8.66 million subscribers, is happily married to her best friend, and is making content she wholeheartedly enjoys. Buzzfeed continues to sink into irrelevance and churns out content their own staff seem unenthused about. Sometimes, change is for the better. I'm glad to see how far Saf has come and how happy she's been since she left. Never be afraid to forge your own path in life.

I think buzzfeed helped safiya to believe in herself, that whatever a big company is doing, she will be able to do it herself - and probably (and in this case) even better. Love seeing people leave buzzfeed and starting their own career, everything is good about this. The start that buzzfeed provides, meeting likeminded people, learning the craft and having space to experiment on your voice, and then growing out of it. That's when you start going your own way. Buzzfeed is good and bad enough to provide both, the start and the exit.

I am glad to see your talent spread and evolve, as long as you upload videos I will be watching them. You've turned in some sort of one-way friend to me in these last years. See you at the next upload.

When I watched the Ladylike videos with Safiya, I felt like she was the "weak element" of the group, as if she didn't really fit. When then I saw her as a solo youtuber, it was a surprise, Safiya alone is much better than Safiya in Ladylike. I think her style is just a bit different from Ladylike's. I really like both Ladylike without Safiya, and Safiya alone, and artistically speaking I'm happy they split.
