    What does "self texturizing" mean?

    • H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement
H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement 7 days ago

Hi, that's a good question. It's thicker than most paints and when it goes on, kind of self levels with a slightly textured feel. You can't see any texture in the paint finish though. I hope that answered your question!

You put vaso vasoline on your hands and then touch the wood putting grease back on the wood .No numbers on the doors and drawers .worst video ever !

    • H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement
H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement 24 days ago

If you use common sense and rub it in, your perfectly fine. I've been doing this for years. As far as numbering doors and drawers that was done when assembly of cabinets was done by hand. In today's world, these are all machine made and the parts are precise. I'm assuming you were watching this video to learn and didn't have all of the answers beforehand or you wouldn't be watching. I hope you found a video that you liked :)

Remove the rust from your tools, or not. Just coat them with Boiled Linseed Oil, and let dry. It doesn't actually have an evaporative thinner in it. The hardening is mostly a catalytic process. It might remain a little sticky, if the BLO is more than 3 years old; the main thing is that humidity in the ambient air can no longer get to the steel parts. You can actually use most of the tools with the coating all over them. If you must have "pretty" stuff, use something else, and put the GLO on your unpainted wood surfaces. It'll soak in totally, if you don't drown the wood with it. Every 3 years or so, repeat the coating, just to keep the wood from drying out.

You may want to use a razer blade to go along the edge of blue tape that is closest to the painted surface espically if the paint has dried. It helps remove the tape without pulling off chips of paint.

    • H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement
H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement 3 months ago

Thanks for sharing. That’s a good tip when you leave the tape on too long and let the paint dry. If you al always remove it at a 45 degree angle what the paint is dry to the touch you’ll get the best sharp lines.

Will this work with laminate/thermafoil cabinets? Also with two of my cabinets, the laminate is peeling off by significant amounts what should I do with these cabinets?

    • H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement
H2OBungalow Home Decor & Home Improvement 17 days ago

Yes, it will but I'd use a high grit (180-220) sandpaper to thoroughly prep the surface first. On the ones where the thermal coating is peeling, if you can't glue them back down, take a hairdryer and heat them up and peel off the rest of the coating before painting. It won't be as smooth as the coated ones. We did this in another project where they were peeling too.
